"Sang the Dreamer"
Before the window in the pantry
Cleared, and unscathed by ballistic meaning
I sat at the piano, awaiting the morning mistress
White, pearly and unpolished
Bathed in the hushed soft of the morning light
I ran slender fingers across the ivory white
Sweetest sound arose from the smoothed keys
It wasn’t my own
That solemn melody
But, neither was it theirs
Bathed in midday sun
Silent as his own beaming rays had been
A shadow had swept across my way
Maybe it was a cloud
Blotting away unwhispering light
Long drawn from my fanatical thoughts
I had paused to flip the page
A new set of notes came to greet
“Imagine all the people, sharing all The World”
I had sung, so long before
And still continue to sing
Before the window in the pantry
Cleared, and unscathed by ballistic meaning
I sat at the piano, awaiting the morning mistress
White, pearly and unpolished
Bathed in the hushed soft of the morning light
I ran slender fingers across the ivory white
Sweetest sound arose from the smoothed keys
It wasn’t my own
That solemn melody
But, neither was it theirs
Bathed in midday sun
Silent as his own beaming rays had been
A shadow had swept across my way
Maybe it was a cloud
Blotting away unwhispering light
Long drawn from my fanatical thoughts
I had paused to flip the page
A new set of notes came to greet
“Imagine all the people, sharing all The World”
I had sung, so long before
And still continue to sing
